With its place in the Urban Best Practice Area of the Expo Freiburg presents itself as the Green City in an impressive manner. With the help of design agency, BGA Group the city delivers its messages of environmentally-orientated culture to a global audience.
The Expo in Shanghai is the first international presentation of Freiburg’s Green City brand. BGA Group were proud to be asked to develop a part of the communication concept.

“It was BGA Group’s task to expand on the ‘Expo 2010’ exhibition concept. Taking the existing building blocks and giving them a character and tone-of-voice that will communicate the cities vision and mission at the Expo and beyond. ‘Sustainability’ is a buzzword in the media - we are showing how Freiburg “lives and breaths it”
Our objective is to present Freiburg as a forerunner of ecological technology and sustainability. Freiburg has been recognised as a “Best Practice” city for urban development, our job is to communicate Freiburg’s key messages to the global audience at the Expo 2010 in Shanghai”.
