Pro bono

With a long background in the Life Sciences, BGA is a firm believer in the principles of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and sustainable development. As a result, each year, BGA donates some of its resources to a charity or philanthropic organisation to help them achieve their goals. As well as being able to benefit organisations that may not have significant funds, the process also helps us to understand what our customers need to help them implement their own CSR programmes.

Pro life

Described by The Times newspaper as “Big enough to make a difference, but small enough to care”, Born Free is dedicated to keeping wildlife in the wild, protecting endangered species and to increasing understanding of the key issues affecting wild animals in our ever-changing global environment. Each year, thousands of animals worldwide benefit from the intervention and care provided by the Foundation, which has an impressive list of celebrity patronage.

In order to assist the Foundation in its strategy to migrate from printed media to an (environmentally-friendly) online magazine, BGA donated its proprietary digiflipper software. digiflipper is interactive online publication software that replicates the effect of turning pages and encourages interactivity. The software can be used in parallel with existing print media, maintaining the original layouts.

More freedom

As a planet-conscious organisation, Born Free wanted to provide an incentive to its members to move from the printed hard copy of its quarterly magazine by offering them a migration path to the subscribed online version. This strategy was two-fold in that it not only helped reduce the physical print costs (fiscal and environmental) and those of distribution, but it also helped the Foundation to encourage a deeper involvement with its members and patrons. It provided an exciting platform where information and merchandise could be presented to better advantage and drew supporters in to an online community and greater familiarity with the existing website.

Client feedback

The digiflipper allows us to present our printed literature online in an effective and stylish format. Online magazines are now easy for us to create, and easy for our supporters to read
